Group Service Center Kolkata complete 3 glorious yearsGSC Kolkata completed three golden years on 23 November, 2008. HSBC House welcomed all its employees to be a part of the celebration along with the people most special to them – their family and friends! The event, carried by a Wild West theme was declared open by the City Manager and the Deputy City Manager. The guests got a taste of things to come when they were greeted by a horse and true cowboy camaraderie. HSBC House had undergone a complete transformation – which took people back in time to shady saloons and one horse towns. A variety of stalls were manned by various processes, each one, unique and exemplifying the people and culture of the process. The stalls varied from ones that were based on luck where you could make a quick buck and ones where you could paint your face and get a tattoo and pretend to be a Red Indian Chief. Another stall was dedicated to the sale of leather goods crafted by talented AIDS afflicted victims from Awaaz, a local NGO which works amongst the victims of the virus. There was something for everyone, even the children were kept engaged through specially made games and activities. Last, but certainly not the least, were the food stalls which are always one of the largest draws at any carnival. Guests were taken on a tour of the facility so they see for the first time. A stall with a single plasma screen to display GSC Kolkata’s journey from initial brick work to a fully operational GSC was setup to give people a sense of its history. The carnival reached its crescendo with a series of performances by employees from the GSC and children from Awaaz and SOS (NGOs supported by GSC Kolkata) and the cake cutting ceremony. The day was a phenomenal success as the occasion warranted that everyone take the opportunity to stop and enjoy an important milestone with family, friends and colleagues. 4 December 2008 |
